Freshly picked popcorn needs to be cured before popping. Remove the husks and spread the cobs out, or hang them in a mesh bag in a warm, dry place to thoroughly dry for 2 - 3 months after picking. You can leave it on the cob and use it for decoration until it's ready to pop! For longer storage, after drying remove the kernels and store them in an airtight jar. After proper curing, popcorn can last for years!

Place one cob into a paper bag. Fold closed.
Microwave on high for 1-1/2 to 3 minutes.
Remove when popping slows to about
1 to 2 pops per second.

Remove kernels from cob.
Heat pan over medium heat.
Add 2-3 TBS vegetable oil.
Place one kernel of popcorn in the pan.
Once the kernel pops or the oil begins to smoke, add 1 cup of kernels.
Place a lid on the pan and shake the pan continuously over the flame. Do not stop shaking or the popcorn will burn!
When popping stops or the lid begins to push up, remove the pan from the flame.
